Kempner acquires shopping center.

The Kempner Corporation, a real estate investment firm based in White Plains, New York has announced the acquisition of The New Paltz Plaza, a 150,000-square-foot shopping center on 15.75 acres located in New Paltz, New York. New Paltz Plaza is located 75 miles north of New York City and serves as the largest community shopping center in the area.

The shopping center which is 95 percent leased is anchored by Ames Department Store, Great American Supermarkets, a 90-store supermarket chain, and a multi-plex movie theater. In addition to 18 in-line stores there are two pad sites occupied by Fleet Bank and The New Paltz Diner.

Peter and James Kempner will begin a renovation of the center during the Spring of 1993 to include a new facade, signage, landscapig and resurfacing of the parking.
