Kelly's eye on proving youth critics wrong.

IT has often been said Liverpool's Academy has failed to produce a top class player in more than a decade but maybe that is about to change.

During what was a hugely encouraging week thanks to two resounding home wins, it was pleasing to see Martin Kelly make his Premier League debut against Portsmouth.

There is little doubt he would have played a few more times before now had it not been for injury but this young man looks to be going in the right direction; his progress will be keenly chartered.
