Kejriwal announces internal inquiry against his aides.

Kaushambi, Oct 19 ( ANI ): Activist-turned politician Arvind Kejriwal on Friday announced that a committee of three judges would investigate the charges against his aides, and added that anybody found guilty, will be asked to quit.

Amid allegations of graft against Prashant Bhushan, Mayank Gandhi and Anjali Damania, Kejriwal said an internal Lokpal or ombudsman would study their cases starting Monday.

"There are three people who are repeatedly targeted - Prashant Bhushan, Mayank Gandhi Anjali Damania. We will send these three cases to our internal Lokpal on Monday. We will request them to give their decisions in these cases earlier," he said.

Kejriwal said that while announcing the formation of his political party he made it clear that an internal Lokpal will inquire into the charges of corruption levelled against any of his party members.

"When we announced the formation of a political party, then we announced that of charges of corruption are levelled against any party member then an internal Lokpal will inquire into it. There are three judges on whom nobody can raise a finger suspicion. Justice A.P. Shah, Justice B H Marlapalle and Justice Jaspal Singh, these three judges are our party's internal Lokpal," said Kejriwal.

"If any allegation is levelled against any office bearer of the party, then these judges will investigate the charges. If the judges find the person guilty of corruption, then the member will be asked to leave the party," he added.

Kejriwal also said that an email address would be released to the public.

"Anyone with a complaint against a member of the party can mail it here," he said.

Kejriwal further alleged that several charges are being levelled against those pitching their voice against corruption from the time the movement has begun.

" We have repeatedly said that the government should conduct a probe. The government has left several agencies (investigating agencies) behind us, our phones are being tapped. But they have not got anything yet. Despite that whenever we raise an issue, they level charges against Prashant Bhushan and Mayank Gandhi," he added.

Prashant Bhushan, who is a lawyer by profession, has been accused of illicitly acquiring land in Noida near Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.

According to reports, Mayank Gandhi has been targeted for helping a real estate company owned by his uncle to land a contract for redeveloping a South Mumbai market.

Damania, a Mumbai-based Right to Information Activist, has been accused of acquiring agricultural land at cheap rates from farmers, and then selling it for a huge profit after commercial activity.

Kejriwal also rubbished former IPS officer Y.P. Singh's allegations levelled against him of suppressing the 'Lavasa scandal' allegedly involving NCP Chief Sharad Pawar.

"We are very selective about what we say because we are responsible. We expose corruption only after we have proof against them. We had already protested against Sharad Pawar," he said. ( ANI )
