Kazakhstan to supply 1.4 billion kWh of electricity to Kyrgyzstan.

The total volume of electricity to be supplied by Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan will make 1.4 billion kWh, Chief of Foreign Policy Division of President's Administration Sapar Isakov told reporters, explaining the agreement reached during the bilateral talks on November 7 in Astana.

President Nazarbayev said earlier that Kazakhstan will supply 400 million kWh of electricity in 2014 and 1.4 billion kWh of electricity next year.

"400 million kWh will be supplied in exchange for electricity to be generated and supplied to Kazakhstan in vegetation period along with irrigation water. 1 billion kWh will be supplied in parts - 200 million kWh each month - starting since these days. So, 1.4 billion kWh of electricity will be supplied in total," Sapar Isakov explained.

"On Monday the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan will head to Jambul to draft the contract on electricity supply," Isakov stated.

As for electricity price, Kazakhstan's electricity is more expensive. It will be mixed with domestic electricity to reduce price for population, the official stated.

The preliminary price of the electricity to be imported from Kazakhstan will make 5.13 som, reports Tazabek.
