Kazakhstan : Bakytzhan Sagintayev familiarized with the work of Atyrau petrochemical technopark.
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited a special industrial zone "National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark" in Atyrau where he got acquainted with the construction of a polyethylene plant and a gas turbine power plant.
Currently, there are 15 participants in the territory of the Special Economic Zone. As of April 1, the total volume of investments amounted to 339 billion tenge, including private investments - 269.8 billion tenge. More than 1,300 jobs have been created.
Bakytzhan Sagintayev inspected the Polymer Production plant within the framework of the State Program of Forced Industrial-Innovative Development, familiarizing himself with the plant's technology to produce about 11,000 tons of polypropylene a year, up to 34 million pieces. 371 people work in the production. Last year goods worth 2.2 billion tenge were sold.
According to Azamat Zhusupov, Chairman of the Board of "Polymer Production" LLP, today the plant produces polyethylene coatings, biaxially-oriented polypropylene coatings, various packages, as well as polypropylene bags with capacity of 25 and 50 kg. Light and food industry products are exported to all regions of Kazakhstan and to Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. This will have a strong multiplicative effect on the socio-economic development of the region and will promote import substitution.
During the visit to the gas turbine power plant under the state program for the development of infrastructure "Nurly Zhol", Chairman of the Board of "United Chemical Company" LLP Victor Usberbai said that the project will provide the major investment projects in the territory of SEZ with electric power and high pressure steam. The project implementation period is 2014-2019, with a value of 111.1 billion tenge. Plant capacity - 310 MW, number of jobs - 100.
