Kayani had asked to attack CJ's convoy: Pervez Elahi.
ISLAMABAD -- Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League QuaideAzam (PMLQ) Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has claimed that former Chief of Army Staff General Asfaq Pervez Kayani, who was then head of ISI, had asked them to attack on the then chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.
In an interview to a private TV channel, the former chief minister of Punjab said he received a letter from General Kayani to stop convoy of Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry near Jhelum and attack it through political activists in Kharian if they move ahead. He, however, said they refused to do so.
In reply to a question, he said he had that letter with him and can present in case.
Pervez Elahi said he had also asked former president Pervez Musharraf that it was not the right way. He said Musharraf confessed mistake of making a deal with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) while bypassing the PMLQ leadership.
He was of the opinion that they always supported Musharraf and they were penalised for it.
Replying to a query about rigging in general polls, Pervez Elahi said they asked Imran Khan to speak about entire country instead of only four constituencies.
Commenting about assasination of Benazir Bhutto, he said she was murdered in the caretaker setup, adding that no FIR was registered against him regarding her accuastions on him.
He also challenged Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to come in front of him and make a comparision of the both regimes.
