Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that India desired to crush the freedom struggle of Kashmiris. Hence, it has deployed over 800,000 armed forces in the Occupied Kashmir. Besides, the draconian laws, such as the Public Safety Act and the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, etc have been enforced which give a free hand to the Indian officials to do anything with the Kashmiris.
The local courts are powerless to take any action against these criminals. Therefore, not a single Indian official involved in these ignominious acts have been punished. Late Major Autaar, the murderer of Jalil Andrabi, was free to move within India as well as abroad. No court of India or of other countries took action against him until the nature intervened to take revenge on him and he died mysteriously.
The Chairman Kashmir Committee observed that United Nations passed many resolutions for holding a plebiscite in the State of Jammu & Kashmir, but they were not implemented. The United Nations also passed the Universal Declaration for Human Rights on December 10, 1948.
The day is observed every year. Besides, two rapporteurs of the UN Human Rights Council visited Indian Occupied Kashmir and exposed the atrocities inflicted on the Kashmiris. However, no action was taken to stop the human rights violations in the occupied territory. Recently, two human rights organizations have compiled reports which include astonishing facts.
These reports have also indicated the names of the Indian army, police and border security force officials, who are involved in these heinous crimes. The Chairman called upon the world community not to close eyes on the barbarities inflicted on the Kashmiris.
He urged that proceedings should be started against these criminals in the International Crime Tribunal. He also warned, if the reign of terror unleashed by India in the Occupied Kashmir is not stopped, the situation can go out of hand.
