LORIS KARIUS admits he is willing to take risks as he vies to be Jurgen Klopp's first choice goalkeeper at Anfield.
The 22-year-old joined the Reds from Mainz last week in a PS4.7m deal.
The German will wear the No1 shirt next season - something he requested - and will aim to usurp Simon Mignolet in goal.
And Karius has revealed what he will do in order to become a starter under Klopp.
Goalkeeper Loris Karius plans to be the Reds No1 "My goalkeeping style is very modern," he said. "(It's) offensive and also with a bit of risk, something that I'm willing to take.
"I wanted the No1 shirt because I was wearing it at Mainz - and I want to be the No1 here at Liverpool."
Karius made 96 appearances for the Bundesliga side, and was voted the second-best keeper in the league by his fellow professionals last season.
Former Liverpool and Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann has tipped Karius to be in the starting line-up next season.
"Germany has a history of outstanding goalkeepers, and Karius is very talented," Hamann said.
"I think he will start the season as Liverpool's number one goalkeeper."
