One of the greatest things we get to do here at GL is, in our little way, change people's lives. OK, we're not exactly creating world peace around here (though that would be nice) but, after 10 years, it's still a total thrill to get a letter from a reader who says our advice made a big difference ... or one of our ideas really worked for her ... or even that she loves, loves, loves the shirt we had in our last issue so much that she ran out and bought it. Those letters are why we make this magazine.

This issue was an especially great time. We got to spend a week with seven girls and watch them achieve seven major changes. It never ceases to amaze me that switching up simple things, like your hair or your clothes or even your lip gloss, can have such an overall impact. Yes, it's true that when you look good, you feel good. And when you feel good, you take that positive energy and put; it out there. And when you put out positive energy, I positive things happen. But even more than that, taking the time to really improve your life says one very important thing to the world and to yourself--you are worth the best and worth being your best.

While I hope you enjoy every single page of this issue, I can't wait another second for you to start your own GL Makebetter (when magazines use the word "makeover," it always leaves me feeling like the original wasn't great ... and all these girls were already pretty fab). So flip to page 40. We can't wait to read your success story at letters@girlslife.com!
