Karate: Karate greats to run courses in South Wales.

TRADITIONAL karate participants in South Wales will be spoilt over the next few weeks as two world-famous experts hold courses.

The Welsh Karate Collective will be hosting a weekend course at the Garth Olwg Campus Gym in Church Village with the renowned Shotokan Master Sensei Dave Hazard on the weekend of September 27 and 28.

Hazard is known as one of Europe's most knowledgeable and skilful instructors and is always described as inspirational by those who take the opportunity to train with him. He is also coach to the English Kata squad and a regular guest in Wales.

Three weeks later, on Sunday, October 19, the world's most successful karate champion, Wayne Otto, will be at Barry's YMCA as a guest of Vale Karate.

Otto, like Hazard, is a coach to the English squad and has an incredible CV which includes no less than seven European and an astonishing nine world titles.

Both courses are open to all members of clubs affiliated to the Sports Council-recognised National Governing Body, the WKGB.
