Karak Nazim presents annual budget.

KARAK -- The district government presented its maiden annual budget for the fiscal year of 2015-2016 in the district council here on Wednesday with the total outlay of the budget is Rs 3.59 billion.

The district budget was presented by the District Nazim Dr Umar Daraz Khattak and the meeting was chaired by district naib nazim Sajjad Khan. While presenting the annual budget the district nazim said that Rs 170 million has been earmarked for the development of the district and the rest of the amount was of non developmental budget. He resolved to spend the budget in extreme transparency to put the district on the track of the development. The district Nazim resolved to work in teamwork to bring the district at par with the other developed districts of the province and resolved to provide gas, electricity and drinking water facility to the nook and corner of the district.

Khattak claimed that the district government has no funds for the natural calamities and demanded of the provincial government to provide sufficient funds to cope with the natural calamities and to provide relief funds to the affected families. The district Nazim informed the council that so far no clear instructions have been given by the provincial government regarding the utilization of the developmental funds and added as soon as the district government receives any sort of instructions the members of the council would be updated.

He resolved to set free all the drinking water supply schemes occupied by the few influential in boundary walls and added that drinking water would be supplied from these tube wells to the common people of the respective areas. The district Nazim approved one month extra salaries to the personnel of the finance department for preparing the annual budget in short spin of time.

He resolved to bring all the available resources for the welfare of the masses. On the occasion the members of the district council delivered speeches on the annual budget and resolved to utilize every penny of the district on the development of the district.

Meanwhile, Karak police has claimed the arrest of 65 Proclaimed Offenders (POs) and have also recovered a heavy cache of weapons and drugs from their possessions. According a press release issued from the office of the district police officer Karak Muhammad Javed Khan here on Wednesday informed that during search operations and raids on the hideouts of the POs the district Karak police has arrested 65 POs in three weeks of time and recovered one Kalashnikov, three guns, three rifles, twenty pistols, 370 cartridges of different bores, 15 magazines and 4 bottle of liquor, 6 kilogram hashish and 186 gram heroin from their possessions.

The press release said that they were wanted to Karak police in different heinous crimes. Meanwhile a PO Shahid son of Hazrat Mir resident of Tataki was arrested by Banda Daud Shah police station from Quetta and he was allegedly involved in double murder case. The DPO has resolved to bring all criminals to justice.
