Karak ANP to protest price hike.

KARAK -- Awami National Party, Karak district chapter, would launch a protest movement against the prevailing price hike and hold rallies and meetings across the district after Ediul Fitr. This was decided in a party meeting held here at a local hotel with its district president Shah Nawaz Khattak in chair. District, tehsil and local chapters' office-bearers attended the meeting.

The participants expressed concern over the unprecedented price hike and claimed that there was no work for the daily wagers as development activities had come to a halt in the country. They said that the country was facing its worst economic crisis and both the federal and provincial governments of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had failed to deliver.

The nationalist leaders resolved that they would not leave the people alone, but would organise rallies against the price hike. They demanded of the government to reduce prices of the petroleum products forthwith.

They said that the rulers were incompetent and there should be fresh elections to put the country on the path of development. They decided to launch a protest movement against price hike in the country soon after Ediul Fitr and asked the workers to be ready for the call of leadership in this regard.

SCHOOL BUILDING: The building of government girls' primary school Ghundi Mir Khankhel (Bazidkhel) is in dilapidated condition and the local elders have demanded its reconstruction to protect the lives of its over 300 students.

The elders, including former union council nazim Alam Badshah and Haji Jamal, told mediapersons here on Sunday that the girls' primary school, Bazidkhel, built in 1983 was in bad shape and needed immediate reconstruction.

They said that they had brought the issue into the notice of the relevant authorities, but they failed to take steps for reconstruction of the school. They demanded of the district government to approve special funds for the school project.
