Karachi needs modern transport system: CM Sindh.
Karachi -- Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali shah has said that Karachi city needs modern transport system adding delay was made to give this modern system but now we want to start this work soon.
A 16 member delegation of World Bank under WB country director Patchamuthu Illangovan called on CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Monday.
Three important projects including BRT Yellow Line, Urban Management and competitiveness project and Reconstruction of all water boards systems were discussed during the meeting with WB delegation.
Delegation was briefed that yellow line project is of 359.5 million dollars.
Detailed design, bus depot, constriction of road and feasibility study was also included in the project.
Urban management and competitiveness project is of 200 million dollars under this project efficiency of MC and DMCs staff will be improved.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah said that Karachi needs modern transport system, delay was made in giving this modern system but now we want to start this work as soon as possible.
Reforms will be introduced in the MC and DMCs so that they could do their work properly, CM added.
He said property survey of Karachi city will also be conducted after that property tax collection will be made scientifically.
We want World Bank help to make Karachi Municipal a best institute, he added.
The project of water board is of 650 million dollars.
Water lines, pumping stations, water provision and billing will also be done on scientific basis and reforms will be introduced to make water board institute better.
