Karachi's population could have been shown less for political reasons: Arif Hasan.
KARACHI -- Renowned Town Planner and architect Arif Hasan said on Wednesday that Karachi's population could have been shown to be less deliberately in order to benefit the status quo.
Talking to a private television channel, Arif Hasan said that it was not possible that Karachi's population stood at 15 million.
'If you increase the population of Karachi, the status quo could be affected,' he said. 'Political reasons could be behind the decision to show the population of Karachi to be less,' he added.
Arif Hasan said that Malir Town and Gadap Town were shown as rural areas.
'Mali is not a rural area,' he said. 'One-third of Gadap is also not rural area,' he added.
