Summary: Former EastEnders star Kara Tointon and her partner Artem Chigvintsev, received a standing ovation for their Rhumba.

Former EastEnders star Kara Tointon and her partner Artem Chigvintsev, received a standing ovation for their Rhumba.

The pair also received a near-perfect score of 39 from the judges, and are now the bookies joint favourite to win.

A surge in the actress' popularity has pushed her neck and neck with previous favourite, presenter Matt Baker.

Whilst Tointon received 39 for her Rhumba, fellow contestant Pamela Stephenson once again scored straight 10s for her Quickstep, with dance partner James Jordan.

The 61 year old received high praise indeed from the usually critical Craig Revel Horwood, who told the pair: "One word, three syllables, starts with f. Fabulous!"

Pamela, Kara, Matt, Gavin Henson and Scott Maslen are all still in the running for the Strictly crown.
