Kaon Launches 3D PDF Solution for Creating Interactive Sales and Marketing Documents; Leader in Interactive Web-enabled Applications for Marketing and Sales Joins Adobe Solutions Network.

MAYNARD, Mass. -- Kaon Interactive Inc(R)., the leader in interactive web-enabled applications to improve marketing and sales effectiveness, today announces their induction into the Adobe Solutions Network and the immediate availability of Kaon 3D PDF(TM), a solution that brings 3D interactivity to sales and marketing documents in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). It allows sales and marketing professionals to deliver to customers an interactive product experience all within the de facto standard format for electronic documents.

Created and updated by Adobe Systems Incorporated, Adobe PDF is the published specification used by organizations around the world for more secure, reliable electronic document distribution and exchange. Adobe PDF files look exactly like original documents and preserve the fonts, images, graphics, and layout of any source file -- regardless of the application and platform used to create it.

"Kaon Interactive delivers a strong, interactive sales experience through Kaon 3D PDF," said Eugene Lee, vice president of Marketing, Intelligent Documents Business Unit, Adobe. "By harnessing Adobe PDF as part of its solution, Kaon is ensuring that virtually anyone inside or outside an organization can view and interact with 3D objects, using nothing more than free Adobe(R) Reader(R) 7.0 software. Kaon's customers can then further extend the utility of 3D PDF files by using Adobe Acrobat(R) 7.0 Professional software for adding document security and driving collaborative review and markup processes."

Adobe has distributed over half-a-billion copies of Adobe Reader software since the product's 1993 introduction.

Built as one of the delivery formats available from the recently-announced Kaon Advisor(TM) platform, Kaon 3D PDF changes the landscape for marketers and salespeople by providing customers with a unique and compelling hands-on experience with a product. The result is a far more effective communication about a product's benefits and features, engaging customers with full product interactivity directly within a document format that everyone is accustomed to and with which all business professionals are comfortable.

Companies such as Sun Microsystems, Texas Instruments and Cisco have begun to deploy Kaon's groundbreaking 3D PDF solutions within their sales, marketing, and training departments.

Interactive Experience

While within Kaon 3D PDF, users can manipulate the model of a product to any angle, zoom in or out, move the image, open compartments, and remove parts and components. This combination of visual and textual information is a proven learning method that increases retention and dramatically enhances the perceived value of products.

Kaon offers many unique capabilities in its 3D PDF solution, including the ability to dynamically change the appearance of a product, such as showing different color options, or varying configuration options. Also included is the ability to measure distances within the Adobe PDF file.

"We are proud to debut the industry's only practical and affordable solution for sales and marketing professionals to include photo-realistic 3D product interaction within Adobe PDF - the industry's standard for document sharing," said Gavin Finn, president and chief executive officer of Kaon Interactive. "By adding this format to our portfolio of solutions, a wide range of companies now have the benefit of using an interactive 3D product experience to dramatically enhance the effectiveness of their sales and marketing tools."
