Kalvin's cool in Calvins.

Little Kalvin Curran checks out Calvin Klein gear - selling at half price.

And the tot's mum, Angela, looks pretty pleased at the deal.

Knockdown designer clothes for kids hit supermarket shelves yesterday and were snapped up for trendy toddlers.

Safeway bought Calvin Klein and Adidas clothes from an unnamed third party instead of the manufacturer.

The move allowed them to cut normal profit margins.

The togs - including sweatshirts, T-shirts, jeans and jogging bottoms - were on sale in eight Scots stores.

Kalvin, who's almost two, was out shopping with mum Angela, 26, in Bellshill, Lanarkshire.

She said: "I think the price is excellent."

No one from Calvin Klein was available for comment.

But an Adidas spokesman blasted the Safeway coup as "a cheap publicity stunt".

Adidas claim it undermines the "identity" of their products.
