Kalash Chamos festival attracts large number of tourists.

PESHAWAR:The "Shadi Lek Hari" festival which is part of annual Chamos festival Kalash to welcome winter and new-year concluded in Chitral Monday where a large number of local and foreign tourists throng the

valley to enjoy the old traditional festivities.

During the "Shadi Lek Hari" festival Kalashi boys and

girls performed dance in cross-dress on traditional music acting as husband and

wife and singing merry songs to welcome winter as well as new year arrival.

The festival is celebrated annually as a symbol of peace,

love and happiness. Local people also put on weird masks on faces to celebrate Halloween.

Kalash Valley is an ancient valley in Chitral Pakistan

where they celebrate different festivals and Chamos is one of them. The entire

population remains indoors. It is celebrated by feasting, drinking and merry

making.

It is thanks giving function to Almighty for their bumper

crops, fruits, animals and eatable stores for winter. Winter is full of snow,

rain and cold wind. People sacrifice animals in the name of Almighty, rejoice

with fruit, assemble for dancing, singing and enjoy every event and

moment.
