KUWAIT - Nov.5 - Information Minister Quits.

The government accepts the resignation of Information Minister Saad Bin Teflah Al Ajmi, a liberal who has been the target of criticism by some MPs for his media policy. The reason for his resignation is not disclosed (but is believed to have resulted from internal disputes within the cabinet as well as criticism from parliament). The cabinet at the same time vows to throw its weight behind Housing Minister Adel Al Sebeih who is facing a grilling in parliament over a range of decisions to cut housing welfare. The cross-examination is listed on the parliament's agenda for Nov.6.
