KRYGIER NAMED TO TOP FORD BODY & ASSEMBLY POST

 DEARBORN, Mich., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Roman J. Krygier Jr. has been named general manager of Ford Motor Company's (NYSE: F) Body & Assembly Operations -- North American Automotive Operations (NAAO), effective Oct. 1.
 He will replace W. Dale McKeehan, who was elected a Ford vice president and appointed general manager -- Vehicle Operations, NAAO.
 L. David Gorman has been named to the new position of General Operations manager, Body & Assembly, reporting to Krygier.
 Gorman will direct program operations managers and supporting staff activities.
 Krygier, previously Assembly Operations manager, a position he attained in 1992, joined the company in 1964 as a trainee foreman at the Chicago Stamping Plant. After a series of supervisory and management positions in Stamping Operations, he was named manufacturing manager of the Woodhaven (Mich.) Stamping Plant in 1975 and manager of the Buffalo (N.Y.) Stamping Plant in 1977.
 Krygier, 50, was appointed Plant Operations manager -- Body & Assembly Operations in 1985, Stamping and Trim Operations manager in 1986 and Stamping Operations manager in 1987.
 He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a master's degree in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Sloan Fellow.
 Gorman, 55, formerly was Stamping Operations manager, Body & Assembly, a position he was named to in 1992. He came to Ford in 1963 as an accountant in the Steel Division.
 Gorman held a number of Finance Staff supervisory posts before becoming an executive assistant to the vice president of Body & Assembly Operations in 1974. After serving as an assistant plant manager at the Metuchen (N.J.) and St. Thomas (Ont.) Assembly Plants between 1976 and 1979, he was appointed manager at St. Thomas.
 He became Plant Operations manager for Body & Assembly in 1986 and Assembly Operations manager in 1989.
 Gorman holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Cincinnati.
