KRUG INTERNATIONAL NAMES EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER FOR KRUG LIFE SCIENCES INC. DAYTON, Ohio, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- KRUG International (NASDAQ: KRUG) announced today that James M. Vanderploeg, M.D., M.P.H., has been named executive vice president and general manager of KRUG Life Sciences Inc. Vanderploeg has served as general manager of KRUG Life Sciences - Houston Division since 1989. Prior to his employment with KRUG International, Vanderploeg was the chairman of the occupational and preventative medicine department at Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, Houston. Vanderploeg also has held positions with the Space and Life Sciences Directorate of NASA's Johnson Space Center. He served as the first director of the NASA Space Biomedical Research Institute and chief of the Medical Operations Branch. In addition, he was chief of the Flight Medical Clinic in the Medical Sciences division at the Johnson Space Center. Vanderploeg received a B.S. from Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Mich., in 1972 and an M.D. from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa, in 1975. In 1980, he received a masters of public health from the University of Texas in Houston. Vanderploeg is certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine as a specialist in aerospace and occupational medicine. He has received various scholarships and awards including the American Medical Association Physician's Recognition Award, the Space Shuttle Medical Operations Team Group Achievement Award and the NASA Outstanding Performance Award. T. Wayne Holt has served as president of KRUG Life Sciences Inc. since 1990. In 1991, Holt was named executive vice president of the corporation, and he continues in this capacity. Beginning in 1971, Holt has held various executive management positions in the corporation's aerospace business. KRUG Life Sciences Inc. provides support services and technical consulting in life sciences research and development to NASA and the Department of Defense and other government agencies, and the commercial marketplace.
