KROGER COMPANY OFFICIAL COMMENTS ON STRIKE

KROGER COMPANY OFFICIAL COMMENTS ON STRIKE
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- One local radio

station is reporting this morning that Secretary/Treasurer of Local 876 Ed Lively believes "Kroger Corporation is going to fire those workers that have gone on strike if that walkout lasts much longer."
A company spokesman from The Kroger Company (NYSE: KR) said today, "This is just one more instance of fabrications and misinformation being presented by Local 876 officials. Kroger has said all along that these new hires are temporary workers and we want our regular Kroger employees back to work now. We would hope they would also reconsider the contract offer but our main concern is to get them back to work serving our customers on whom we all depend."
