KRANKIE SEX STORIES ARE TOUGH ON US; Stressed Janette drops a dress size.

Byline: Stephen Stewart

KRANKIES star Janette Tough didn't eat for three days following revelations about her sensational sex life.

The entertainer - better known as schoolboy Wee Jimmy Krankie - couldn't face food because she was terrified her confessions might have ruined her career.

And Janette's husband Ian was so worried that he stood shaking with fear at the side of the stage in Glasgow as he waited to face the public for the first time since their saucy secrets were revealed.

Janette, 64, said: "I did not eat for three days.

"I went down a dress size in three days. I was worried about how it would affect our business."

Last month, the couple revealed they used to be swingers and had a string of lovers in their heyday in the 1970s and 80s.

At the time, the comedy duo were in panto at the SECC with John Barrowman. Tickets for Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates soared after the Krankies' confessions.

TEAR But Janette said they were worried they might have ruined everything.

She added: "I did not want it to affect my work. I still went out on to the stage with confidence."

Ian said: "When the story came out, I was standing in the wings shaking.

"I was shaking with a kind of fear, wondering what the reaction would be.

"When we made the first entrance in Glasgow, the place just erupted.

"A woman at the end shouted, 'Krankies, we love you'. It brought a tear to Janette's eye.

"Our audience take it with a pinch of salt."

In a radio interview at the weekend, Janette and Ian insisted there was nothing sleazy about their wild bedroom antics.

Ian, 64, from Clydebank, near Glasgow, added: "We did have sex with other people a couple of times.

"We had parties where things happened and we both found out."
