 TO NEW MANAGEMENT POSITIONS
 NORTHFIELD, Ill., April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Kraft General Foods (KGF) announced today the appointment of several executives to new positions on the company's corporate staff, effective May 1, 1992.
 Eric C. Strobel, 44, was named senior vice president, external development, a newly created position responsible for the development of strategic alliances and partnerships which have a marketing and product development focus. This responsibility will cover all businesses within Kraft General Foods North America and the appropriate linkages to Kraft General Foods International.
 Strobel has been senior vice president, marketing, since 1990, and prior to that was president of the former grocery products group at Kraft, Inc. He joined the company in 1985.
 Strobel's current responsibilities will be assumed by J. Bruce Harreld, 41, who has been appointed senior vice president, marketing services and information management. In this position, Harreld will develop a strategic link between consumer and trade information, information technology and the Marketing and Sales functions. He will have overall responsibility for a wide range of advertising, promotion and marketing activities, as well as the company's information systems.
 Harreld has been senior vice president and chief information officer since 1990. Before that, he was senior vice president, strategy and planning, at Kraft. He joined the company in 1982.
 KGF also announced that Lorraine Scarpa, 48, has been named vice president, marketing services, reporting to Harreld. Her responsibilities will include advertising, consumer promotion, consumer response, direct marketing, event marketing, marketing information and media services.
 Scarpa has been vice president, marketing services, at General Foods USA since 1990, when she joined the company. Prior to that she was corporate vice president, marketing, at Dun & Bradstreet Corp.
 Also announced was the appointment of Richard S. Helstein, 48, as Vice President, Advertising, reporting to Scarpa. He will have primary responsibility for the management of KGF's advertising agency relationships, with an emphasis on areas such as copy development, agency evaluation and compensation.
 Helstein has been vice president, advertising and promotion, at General Foods USA since 1991. Prior to that he served as director of marketing services for GF USA. He joined the company in 1974.
