KRAFT GENERAL FOODS CONSOLIDATES ADULT SYNDICATION AT DMB&B'S TELEVEST UNIT

NORTHFIELD, Ill., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Kraft General Foods (KGF) announced today that it is consolidating buying responsibility for all adult syndication at TeleVest, Inc., the media buying subsidiary of D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles (DMB&B). Buying responsibility had been split between DMB&B and Leo Burnett.
"Consolidation will help us manage the business more efficiently," said David K. Braun, vice president, media services for KGF. "Both Burnett and DMB&B have done an excellent job. It's simply easier and more practical to have one agency handling syndication instead of two. And because DMB&B is our buying agency for all national adult network and cable, it was the logical choice for consolidating our adult syndication.
"As announced separately, KGF has been asked by Miller Brewing Co. to oversee its national media buying activities. Backer Spielvogel Bates will continue to do all of Miller's sports buying. However, in the interest of administrative efficiency, we will handle Miller's non- sports national media through KGF's existing buying agency structure," said Braun.
