KPC denies reports on pipeline blowup, or incident at Al-Sabiya station.

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) denied here

Tuesday what was reported on a blowup or an incident that happened at the

pipelines feeding Al-Sabiya power plant.

KPC Deputy Managing Director for Government, Parliament, Public Relations

and Media and official spokesperson of Kuwaiti Oil Sector Sheikh Talal

Al-Khaled Al-Sabah told KUNA that Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) was currently

carrying out periodical checks of the gas pipelines extending to Al-Sabiya

station.

He made clear that these checks are routine ones in order to ascertain the

soundness of these pipelines before summertime, adding that such checks

requires burning limited quantities of gas in some parts of the pipelines.

Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled added that KOC coordinated with all concerned state

bodies in this respect, asserting that no incidents or blowups occurred in the

pipelines spanning inside the station.
