KP trials for World Junior Athletic Championship on March 3.

PESHAWAR -- A trials to short-list players for the World Junior Athletic Championship will be held at Qayyum Sports Complex on March 3, 2014, former international athlete Habib Afridi told here on Tuesday.

He said all arrangements in this connection have already been made for the smooth conduct of the trials. He said first they would short-list both male and female athletes during a daylong trials and later on the short-listed probables would be sent to Islamabad for the final trials to be held on March 8, 2014 at Jinnah Sports Complex.

He said the final selected players including from other provinces and departments affiliated with Pakistan Athletic Federation would represent Pakistan in World Junior Athletic Championship to be held in Helsinki, Japan.

He said the male athletes would participate in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 110m hurdles, long jump, triple jump, shot put, and javelin while the female would take part in the following event including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 100m hurdles, long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin throw.
