KP to organize refresher training for education department's officers.
PESHAWAR -- After the successful completion of more than 9000 School Quality Management Initiative (SQMI) visits, the Elementary and Secondary Education Department (ESED)Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to refresh the knowledge of Assistant Su-Divisional Education Officers (ASDEOs) by organizing refresher training and handing over the newly purchased latest Tablet PCs.
In this connection, the Provincial Institute of Teacher Education (PITE) started two days refresher
training for all ASDEOs from August 15th 2018, and will continue till September 7th, 2018, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
The series of SQMI trainings launched by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department (E and SED) to improve field-level monitoring and professional assistance to the teachers of the primary level of education in the province.
Through SQMI, the ASDEOs are capable to observe and immediate feedback for improvement in teaching practices based on national professional standards for teachers. Each ASDEO observe a class of 35 minutes using the Android-based application on his/her tablet PC provided by the education department.
During the visit the ASDEOs also assess student learning of all present students of class 2 and provide feedback to the teachers on students learning.
Nearly 10, 000 schools were visited before the summer break. In these visits teaching practices were observed, students were assessed, school management was observed and on spot feedback to the teacher and head, teachers were provided.
In view of the learning E and SED is filing all vacant posts at the same time is working to increase the posts of ASDEOs so that all primary schools of the province will be regularly visited.
