KOP BOW TO TON-UP ACE STEVE; Liverpool 3 PSV 1.

ROBBIE KEANE last night bagged his first goal for Liverpool and skipper Steven Gerrard celebrated by hitting the ton.

Their goals and an early strike by Dirk Kuyt kept Rafa Benitez and his side unbeaten this season.

Danny Koeve rmans snatched a late goal for PSV but the result was the perfect boost for Liverpool ahead of their next Champions League clash - away to fellow GroupD pacesetters AtleticoMadrid.

Only four minutes were on the clock when the Kop got the breakthrough they wanted.

Gerrard's corner from the right was met by a first-time shot from Fernando Torres.

Keeper Andreas Isaksson blocked the Spaniard's effort, only for Kuyt to ram home the rebound from 10 yards - with Isaksson letting the ball squirm through his hands.

Keane had a good penalty shout turned down when he was caught by Carlos Salcido.

Kuyt tested Isaksson again with a 20-yarder on the turn that the former Manchester City keeper held low to his left.

Torres then headed wide from a corner before setting up Keane in 34 minutes. Kuyt sent Torres down the right and his low cross was met by Keane first time, his shot screaming into the bottom corner .

Anfield erupted, Keane having finally netted on his 11th appearance for the club.

PSV brought on young defender Erik Peters at the break for Brechet.

Bakkal saw a 25-yard effort fizz just wide before Salcido's tackle on Torres sent him spinning to the turf and a hush fell over the stadium until he struggled painfully to his feet.

Amrabat, who had battled away bravely on his own in attack, then unleashed a fierce 20-yard shot that thudded wide.

Stijn Wuytens was caught by a Martin Skrtel boot and was soon replaced by Koevermans after 59 minutes.

Torres could have ended the debate after 65 minutes when Kromkamp's wayward pass put him clear but his flick past Isaksson drifted inches wide.

Yossi Benayoun came on for Riera after 67 minutes.

Lucas replaced Keane before Dirk Marcellis was booked for a foul on Torres.

That paved the way for Gerrard to grab his 100th Liverpool goal in 75 minutes, smashing a fierce 25-yarder past Isaksson.

But PSV hit back three minutes later when sub Balazs Dzsudzsak crossed from the right. The ball cleared Jamie Carragher to allow Koevermans to get to it ahead of Skrtel, sending his 10-yard shot wide of Jose Reina.
