KOLOSKI: NEW CONCESSIONS TO GREECE SLAP IN THE FACE OF ALL MACEDONIANS.
Meto Koloski, President of the United Macedonian Diaspora, has posted a video oh his Facebook page reacting to the latest decisions of the Macedonian Government to rename the highway to Greece and the airport in Skopje.
Koloski says that Macedonia has made numerous concessions to appease Greece and the Greek people.
"Concession 1: Macedonia was admitted into the UN under the name "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" which has lasted for 25 years. Concession 2: Macedonia signed the Interim Accord to sit with Greece on the same table to resolve Greece's problems over Macedonia's name and Greece's Parliament never ratified the agreement. Concession 3: Macedonia added two amendments to its Constitution. Amendment 1: Macedonia has no territorial aspirations on any of its neighbors including Greece. Amendment 2: Macedonia will not fight for the human rights of Macedonians living in neighboring countries including Greece. Concession 3: In order for Greece to lift the economic embargo that it placed on Macedonia and the Macedonian people Macedonia had to change its flag.
"And today, Prime Minister Zaev and the Macedonian Government announced that they had made two more concessions to Greece. They renamed the airport Skopje International Airport and the highway that leads to Greece Friendship Highway. This is a slap in the face for all Macedonians who fought for a free, sovereign and independent Macedonia. What friendship and what concessions has Greece offered to Macedonia? Will they rename their second largest airport, the Macedonia Airport, to something else? Will they allow Macedonia to join NATO and the EU? Zero concessions to Macedonia and the Macedonian people.
"Macedonia has been recognized by 137 countries. We are Macedonia and we are part of the international community. NATO, the EU and Greece will have to come to terms with that. We are not going to change our name, our identity and our language to appease Greece or the Greek people. They have to come to terms with that if they want to be friends with Macedonia and the Macedonian people. Join our We Are Macedonia movement around the world and attend various protests that are going on in different parts of the world like Australia, Canada, the US, Europe and Macedonia. Sign the We Are Macedonia petition and make sure you are meeting and advocating your policy makers to issue statements on all the concessions that Macedonia is making and why Macedonia shouldn't change its name," Koloski says.
