KODAK INTRODUCES SMALLER SINGLE-USE CAMERAS WITH IMPROVED FEATURES, ADDITIONAL EXPOSURES

ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK) today introduced improved versions of its popular Fun Saver 35 camera and Fun Saver 35 camera with flash.
Most noticeable among the improvements is the size reduction--both cameras are little more than one inch thick. That makes the Fun Saver 35 the smallest single-use camera sold in the United States. It is about the size of a deck of playing cards.
Other improved features include an optical viewfinder, a film- counter magnifier and a grip for steadier shooting. Both cameras are loaded with new Kodak Gold ultra 400 film. The roll has 27 exposures-- versus 24 exposures previously--at no extra cost.
"Single-use cameras are the fastest-growing part of the photography business," said Dr. Leo J. Thomas Jr., president, Kodak Imaging Group. "Improving Kodak Fun Saver cameras will make them an even bigger hit with people who love to take pictures."
The Fun Saver 35 camera and Fun Saver 35 camera with flash will be available in drug stores, discount stores, mass merchants, photo specialty stores, mini labs and supermarkets by September. The suggested selling price for the Kodak Fun Saver 35 camera is $9.95; for the Kodak Fun Saver camera with flash, $17.95.
Kodak today also unveiled the new Fun Saver camera car for the NASCAR Busch series, Grand National Division. With today's announcement, Kodak will be showcasing two product lines in NASCAR's top two series: Kodak film for Winston Cup and Kodak Fun Saver cameras for Busch. Previously, the company raced the Kodak film car in both series.
