KNVO-CHANNEL 48 BECOMES NEW UNIVISION NETWORK AFFILIATE
 MIAMI, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Univision, the nation's leading

Spanish-language television network, has added KNVO-Channel 48 to its list of nationwide network affiliates. Starting today, highly rated programs like "Sabado Gigante," "The Cristina Show" and "Noticiero Univision" will reach 700,000 viewers in the McAllen-Brownsville, Texas, area.
"I am thrilled to see KNVO join our list of network and cable affiliates nationwide," said Ray Rodriguez, president and CEO of Univision. "KNVO allows Univision to reach a very large and important Hispanic population in the U.S., which was previously underserved and without cable service."
Founded in 1961, Univision has more than 600 broadcast and cable affiliates in the United States. Today, Univision ranks number one among Hispanic viewers, with 14 of the top 15 Spanish-language television programs airing on the network. Its programs can be seen throughout the United States and in 18 countries in Latin America.
"We are all very happy to see KNVO join our network as a new affiliate," said Raul Torano, chairman of the board for Univision Holdings. "This new relationship further increases our enormous audience reach, which is consistent with what our advertisers have grown to expect."
"The addition of KNVO expands Univision's coverage to over 90 percent of Spanish U.S.A. -- the largest number of Spanish-language viewers throughout the United States," said Andrew Goldman, executive vice president of business affairs for Univision. "KNVO is the first U.S. Spanish-language television station in the lower Rio Grande Valley."
Larry Safir, Spanish broadcasting veteran and KNVO general manager, explained the impact that KNVO will have on the Texas service area. "KNVO has the potential to rapidly become the most-watched English or Spanish-language television station in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas," he said.
Univision, the nation's leading Spanish-language television network, reaches 90 percent of the Hispanic market through satellite- interconnected broadcast and cable affiliates nationwide.
