ATLANTA, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- KnowledgeWare, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: KNOW) disclosed that it expects record revenues for its 1993 fiscal year which ended today.
The company plans to release final results by mid-August. KnowledgeWare expects to report revenues in excess of $38 million for its fourth quarter, compared to $34 million in revenues for its fiscal 1992 fourth quarter. The company expects earnings per share for the quarter to range between $0.20 and $0.25 per share.
Revenues for fiscal year 1993 are expected to be approximately $127 million, compared to $115 million for its fiscal year 1992. The company will enter its fiscal year 1994 with a record backlog of unfulfilled customer orders.
"We are delighted that our investments in products, technologies, services and distribution are resulting in strong revenue results and growth rates," said KnowledgeWare Chairman Francis Tarkenton. "We made some very tough decisions during the last fiscal year, and feel gratified with these early results."
KnowledgeWare President and Chief Operating Officer, Donald P. Addington, stated: "Over the past 12 months, we have re-cast our product portfolio, broadened our revenue sources and restructured our organization. Our transition from a one-product, I-CASE vendor to a multi-product application development solutions vendor is well underway and has significant momentum. There is dramatic contrast between our profile in June 1992 and this June. We are very well positioned to capitalize on our strengths and our investments."
During fiscal year 1993, the company expanded its consulting and training operation, resulting in $11.6 million in revenues, compared to $5.9 million in fiscal year 1992, a 97 percent increase. KnowledgeWare also expanded its distribution capacity by acquiring its European distributors from Ernst & Young. In addition, it established KnowledgeWare Worldwide, Inc., which is headquartered in Paris. In the U.S., KnowledgeWare expanded its traditional distribution channel and signed agreements with more than 30 resellers to distribute certain of its products.
KnowledgeWare also acquired Matesys Mathematic Systems S.A. and its subsidiary, Matesys Corporation, and its product ObjectView. ObjectView is a powerful, visual development tool for creating Windows-based, client/server applications that access multiple distributed databases. In addition, the company introduced Application Development Workbench 2.7, the culmination of the largest development project in its history. The company recently introduced the Legacy Workbench, a comprehensive set of tools that accelerate the maintenance, redesign and migration of existing mainframe-based applications.
Addington added, "KnowledgeWare now offers the industry's broadest range of both integrated CASE and individual application development tools, training, methodologies and professional services for client/server, mid-range and mainframe environments."
KnowledgeWare is the market leader in providing application development solutions for client/server, mid-range and mainframe environments. KnowledgeWare's Application Development Workbench is currently used by more than 4,200 companies and supported by 70 independent software vendor and consultant products.
