KNOW WHO THEY ARE? There are unsolved crimes on Teesside and you can help if you recognise any of these suspects.


DECEPTION at a bingo hall, fraud at a supermarket and the theft of a pensioner's purse are among various unsolved crimes in the Stockton borough.

Despite investigations, the suspected criminals are yet to be apprehended and police have now issued a series of images taken from CCTV footage in a bid to bring them to justice.

Today the Evening Gazette, in partnership with Cleveland Police and Crimestoppers is urging any witnesses with information to help bring them to justice.

People can report information by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and quoting the appropriate reference number. This can be done anonymously and callers could be in line for a reward.

On December 1 last year between 1.45pm and 1.50pm at Mecca Bingo at Chandlers Wharf in Stockton, a man entered the bingo hall and approached a 1 member of staff asking for pounds 300 in notes to be changed into coins.

He stated he worked for a taxi firm. The staff obtained cash bags and placed them on the counter.

The man then placed the notes in a spot where the staff member had to reach and look away. As he did so, the suspect used his other hand to place three bags into his pocket. He then counted the bags and told the member of staff it's three bags short.

He was then given another three bags containing pounds 20 coins. Reference for the offence is S1/146/09.

THE alleged Stockton incidents captured on camera also include an assault at the Fairfield Public House in Stockton on January 23 this year.

2 At 22.05pm a woman was filmed causing a disturbance but attacked the landlady when asked to leave.

6 THIS man and woman are alleged to have stolen three 7 Adidas tracksuits worth pounds 240 from JD Sports at Teesside Retail Park in Stockton on October 20. The items were placed inside a carrier bag which was believed to be foil-lined before walking out without paying for the goods. Quote reference S1/125/09.

8 THIS man is alleged to have stolen two bottles of wine on October 1 last year from the Co-op Store in Redhill Road, Stockton. Quote reference S1/126/09.

9 THIS man is alleged to have stolen two cases of bacon and four joints of beef from Tesco Express, High Street in Norton, on October 29 last year. Quote reference S1/129/09.

THIS shaven-headed man is alleged to have stolen pounds 30 by confusing a cashier and claiming he was short-changed at Sainsbury's in Marske Parade in Stockton on October 3 last year. Quote reference S1/131/09.

10 11 THIS man and woman are alleged to have stolen pounds 30 by confusing a cashier at Mills Newsagents in Station Road, Eaglescliffe, on November 4 last year. Quote reference S1/142/09.

12 THIS woman is suspected of stealing a purse containing pounds 100 cash belonging to a pensioner on October 24 last year in Home Bargains in Allensway, Thornaby. The elderly woman had left her purse on the till area and when the suspect went to pay for her items she is alleged to have placed a carrier bag over the purse before putting it in her bag. THIS man is alleged to have stolen 10 cans of Stella Artois lager on February 2 this year from Bells Store in Thorntree Road, Thornaby. 14 THIS man is alleged to have stolen meat worth pounds 48 on October 27 last year from Somerfield Stores on the High Street in 15 Norton. Quote reference S1/06/2010.

THIS man is alleged to have stolen two Playstation 3s worth pounds 568 on January 9 from 16 the Tesco store in Durham Road, Stockton. Quote reference S1/14/2010.

17 TWO men and a woman are alleged to have stolen a pair of Van Bommel shoes worth pounds 100 on January 3 from T K Maxx, Goodwood Square in Thornaby. Quote reference S1/07/2010.

18 THIS man is alleged to have stolen meat and lager worth pounds 24.84 on January 1 from Asda Store, Portrack Lane in Stockton. Quote reference S1/15/2010.
