KNOGO NAMES HARBIN VICE PRESIDENT, SALES
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Jan. 10 -- KNOGO Corporation (NYSE: KNO), a leading

manufacturer of Electronic Article Surveillance Systems (EAS), today announced the appointment of George M. Harbin as vice president, general manager of sales and service for the KNOGO North America Division.
Harbin, whose sales career began with IBM's office products division in Atlanta in 1973, brings nearly 20 years of experience in sales management to his new position. He will join KNOGO at its world headquarters in Hauppauge, NY, after ten years in sales management for Sensormatic Electronics Corporation, most recently as that firm's regional sales manager for the southeast. Harbin has particular expertise in the area of Closed Circuit Video Systems used in conjunction with EAS, one of KNOGO's growing product lines.
"We welcome George Harbin as a valuable asset to the KNOGO team. His experience in the EAS industry and his in-depth knowledge of selling products in extremely competitive markets will prove invaluable," said Bill Nix, KNOGO North America president.
A 1973 graduate of Furman University in Greenville, S.C., which he attended on an athletic scholarship, Harbin earned a B.S. in economics. He began his sales career with IBM, then moved on to Savin Corporation in 1979 and later joined Sensormatic in 1981 as new product sales manager for CCVS products.
Harbin, his wife Barbara Ann and their two children will be relocating to Long Island.
KNOGO Corporation, founder of the EAS industry in 1966, is the world's technological leader in the design and manufacture of asset protection systems for retailers and industry. Its radio-frequency (RF) and Micro-Magnetic (MM) Systems protect retail merchandise and business assets. KNOGO's Data Displayer, when interfaced with its Surveillor Closed Circuit Video Systems, protects retailers against internal theft by recording point-of-sale transactions onto permanent videocassettes, making a duplicate of the transaction receipt on to a video record.
