KNBC-TV REACHES RETRANSMISSION CONSENT AGREEMENT WITH CENTURY CABLE

 BURBANK, Calif., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- KNBC-TV, the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) owned and operated station in Los Angeles, announced that it has completed an agreement with Century Communications Inc. (Century Cable) granting the cable system the right to continue carrying the signal of KNBC-TV.
 Under the multi-year agreement, Century Cable also agreed to renew and extend their carriage of CNBC, NBC's business and talk cable channel, and distribute "America's Talking," a news-talk cable channel that NBC plans to launch in 1994.
 "We wish to thank the hundreds of thousands of Los Angeles area viewers who supported KNBC during this tough negotiation. We are ecstatic to be able to announce a signed agreement with Century Cable which will enable Century viewers to continue receiving Channel 4 uninterrupted," said L. Reed Manville, president and general manager of KNBC-TV.
 KNBC-TV has reached agreements in fact or in principle with virtually every other major cable system in Los Angeles.
 Century Cable has more than 220,000 subscribers, or approximately 6.5 percent, of the more than 3 million cable subscribers in the Southern California market. Among the systems affected by the agreement are Century Cable - Eagle Rock, Century Cable - Pacific Palisades, Century Cable - Sherman Oaks/Bel Air, Century Cable - Redondo Beach, Century Cable - Yucca Valley, Century Cable - Ventura, Century Cable - Marina Del Rey, Century Cable - West Hollywood, Century Cable - La Habra/Brea, Century Cable - West Los Angeles, Century Cable - Beverly Hills and Century Cable - Twentynine Palms.
