KME ACQUIRES ASSETS OF GRUMMAN EMERGENCY PRODUCTS, INC. NESQUEHONING, Pa., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Officials from Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corporation (KME) have announced the acquisition of the complete product line of Grumman Emergency Products, Inc. by KME Fire Apparatus, a leading manufacturer of American engineered, custom-built fire apparatus. "This should be exciting news for past and future customers of this product line, as well as the KME line," said KME Vice President John Kovatch III. KME will handle all future sales and manufacture of the former Grumman Emergency Products Inc. product line. But more importantly, they will also administer all future service -- including warranty work -- for any product from that line. The entire line, including products such as the Firecat pumpers and Aerialcat platforms and ladders, are now available exclusively from KME. They will enhance the existing KME line of custom-built, American engineered fire apparatus. "This really rounds out our product line, and gives us the opportunity for continued growth in the future," Kovatch noted. The acquisition also gives KME another satellite service center and parts facility. KME officials are targeting to have this facility in the Roanoke, Va., area fully staffed and operational by the end of October. With a production site at World Headquarters in Nesquehoning, Pa., and a factory branch in Rialto, Calif., the company now has one of the largest manufacturing networks in the industry. More information about past or future purchases can be obtained by calling a local KME representative or World Headquarters at (717) 669-5132 or (800) 235-3928. -0- 9/11/92 /CONTACT: John Kovatch of KME, 717-669-5141/ (GQ) CO: Grumman Corporation; Kovatch Mobile Equipment Corporation ST: New York, Virginia, California, Pennsylvania IN: ARO SU:
