KM Energy Partners, Exelon Sign Gas Supply Deal.

Kinder Morgan Texas Pipeline and Exelon Generation Company, LLC, on behalf of ExTex LaPorte Limited Partnership, entered into a long-term natural gas supply agreement in which KMTP will supply 100 percent of the natural gas requirements to a new "peaker" generating plant in LaPorte, TX. ExTex has interconnected its new 160-megawatt facility to KMTP. Through this five-year agreement, ExTex has access to up to 50,000 MMBtu of natural gas per day, effective July 1, 2001.

"Strategic growth is paramount in Exelon Generation's plans in the next five years," said Ian McLean, president of Exelon's Power Team. "The ExTex LaPorte plant is in keeping with Exelon's plan to grow its portfolio of generation assets and use them to strategically position Exelon's Power Team as one of the nation's top five energy suppliers."
