KINKO'S OPENS FIRST EUROPEAN STORE IN ROTTERDAM
VENTURA, Calif., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- In its first move toward

expansion into Europe, Kinko's Service Corporation has opened a flagship store in Rotterdam, it was announced today by company President Dan Frederickson.
"With its active economy, Rotterdam represents an exciting opportunity for Kinko's," said Frederickson. "At this new store, we're offering a wider range of services under one roof than has ever been available there before."
One of the largest port cities in the world, Rotterdam is a thriving business and academic center, with a growing population of small businesses. The 2,100 square foot store is located on the outskirts of downtown, and will offer oversize document faxing and copying, color copying and desktop publishing, as well as self-service and full-service black and white copying.
Unlike most businesses in Rotterdam, the new Kinko's store will be open seven days per week, with business hours extending into the evening. Strict labor regulations traditionally prohibit businesses from operating on the weekends or during the evenings. However, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has granted the company permission to operate its Rotterdam location from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. during the week and from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on the weekends. The majority of Kinko's locations in the U.S., Canada and Japan operate 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Kinko's will employ four full-time workers and 10 part-time workers at its Rotterdam location.
Kinko's Copy Centers make up a privately held network of more than 600 stores in the U.S., employing 17,000 co-workers. Founded by Chief Executive Officer Paul Orfalea, the company has been recognized as one of the top service companies in the United States.
