KINGSTANDING: Joy over attendance rate.

A KINGSTANDING secondary school is celebrating after pupils recorded a two per cent leap in attendence figures during the first half of this term.

Cardinal Wiseman Technology College, in Old Oscott Lane, had an overall attendence of 93 per cent during September and October. Head teacher Martin Jones praised parents, staff and pupils for the improvement.

He said: "The challenge we now face is to maintain this figure throughout the year.

"We want pupils to give themselves the best possible chance of achieving success
