KINESIX SOFTWARE RECEIVES AWARD FOR 'BEST PRODUCT OF 1991' DENVER, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Scientific Software-Intercomp Inc. (NASDAQ: SSFT) announced that Sammi, a software product of its Houston- based Kinesix division, was selected as one of UnixWorld's "Best Products of 1991." UnixWorld published this announcement in the January 1992 issue. Steve Pringle, Kinesix's president, accepted the award at the UnixWorld International Breakfast at Uniforum in California. Pringle commented, "This award further acknowledges the industry's acceptance of Sammi as a leading product in the Client/Server Computing Paradigm of the 1990's." A reprint of the article is available upon request. Sammi is the first Graphical User Environment (GUE) designed for the client server environment. This GUE provides the technology necessary to build graphical user interfaces for distributed applications where the control and monitoring of data are critical to the success of the business. Kinesix also recently signed two major corporate license agreements for Sammi. Valmet Automation, who currently integrates Sammi with their Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition product (OASyS (TM)) for pipelines, has signed up to integrate Sammi as the dispatcher interface for their Load Management and Distribution Automation systems for the electric utility industry. Additionally, Kinesix is part of the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) contractor team that is developing the graphical interface for the Space Station Ground Control Center. The recently constructed control center will be the focal point for Space Station Freedom operations and is managed by the Mission Operations Directorate at JSC.
