KIDS HOAX TERROR; HOLY CROSS DAY 71.
BOMB hoaxers left children in tears yesterday after a device was sent to their school.
Dozens of boys and girls ran screaming from a Protestant primary school as Belfast's classroom conflict escalated.
A parcel containing the hoax was sent to Wheatfield Primary School opposite the Catholic Holy Cross school where a loyalist protest has been held since the start of term.
A secretary opened the parcel and called police. A note inside claimed to be from the Catholic Reaction Force - believed to be a cover name for the INLA.
Another device was found under a car parked near Holy Cross and a controlled explosion was carried out.
One mother, whose 11-year-old daughter goes to Wheatfield Primary, said: "We were all terrified and very worried for the children.
"I took her out of the school straight away."
The police presence at Holy Cross was doubled to 400 yesterday to allow parents to take their children to school individually.
