KIDNAPPED BRIT'S BODY FOUND IN SWAMP; Parents are 'inconsolable'.
Computer consultant Paul Gale, 28, was abducted from his hotel in handcuffs by jealous Greg Marcinski, who was posing as an FBI agent.
Earlier this week Paul's parents Jeff and Elsie had pleaded with Marcinski to tell them where their son was.
They were "inconsolable" after learning about his death early yesterday.
The couple were being comforted by family and friends at their home in Erdington, Birmingham.
Mechanical engineer Jeff, 58, said: "Our worst fears have been confirmed.
"We are devastated and in a state of shock. We are waiting to hear more details from the States."
Paul was last seen early on April 17 at a hotel in Florence, Kentucky.
Marcinski, 23, from Red Bank, New Jersey, has been arrested and charged with abducting Mr Gale and impersonating a Federal agent.
He has admitted to FBI officers that he was "very angry" after learning that his girlfriend, Darla Guidie, had been two-timing him with Paul and wanted to "clear the air" with him.
But he insisted that he dropped Paul unharmed at another hotel in Kentucky after driving around with him for two hours.
Kentucky police and the FBI issued a brief press statement yesterday confirming the discovery of Paul's body.
It read: "At 6pm on April 26, FBI agents located the body of victim Paul Gale near Brick, New Jersey.
"Investigations are continuing and no more information is available at present."
Earlier an FBI spokesman said it seemed likely that Paul had been driven out of Kentucky after it emerged that his mobile phone had been used in Ohio two hours after his kidnap.
Paul worked for TRW Integrated Supply of Mount Laurel, New Jersey.
