KIA MOTORS AMERICA ANNOUNCES FOUR FINALISTS IN ADVERTISING AGENCY SEARCH

 IRVINE, Calif., July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Kia, the car company that will begin selling its own cars in the United States at the end of the year, has announced four finalists in its search for an advertising agency. The agencies are Goldberg Moser O'Neill (San Francisco); Jordan, McGrath, Case & Taylor (New York); Kresser Craig Waring LaRosa (Santa Monica, Calif.); and Stein Robaire Helm (Los Angeles).
 The four agencies will make their final presentations at Kia Motors America's office here between July 14-16, with a decision expected to follow within 10 days, according to Dick Macedo, Kia's director of marketing.
 "Kia is operating at a very fast pace in order to bring its brand name and products to the U.S. market and, in addition to their respective strengths, these agencies have the best chance of hitting the ground running once a selection is made," Macedo said.
 Kia's marketing effort will focus on the launch of a value-packed, four-door compact sedan -- with pricing expected to start below $9,000 -- and the introduction next summer of a sport-utility vehicle.
 Kia Motors America is a subsidiary of Kia Motors Corp. in Seoul, Korea. Since 1987, Kia has built the popular Ford Festiva for sale to North American consumers.
