KFx, INCORPORATED SERIES "C" TEST PLANT COMPLETED

DENVER, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- KFx, Incorporated (NASDAQ Bulletin Board: KFXI), announced today that its Series "C" test plant in Gillette, Wyo., has been mechanically completed and is in the start-up phase. The patented KFx process utilizes temperature and pressure to upgrade abundant low rank fuels by substantially reducing moisture, sulphur and other pollutants. Upon successful demonstration of this plant, KFx intends to construct a 325,000-ton-per-year commercial plant near Gillette.
The KFx board of directors met at the site in Gillette on Friday, Oct. 22, to verify completion of the facility and review future expansion plans. James A. Bitonti, CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the new advanced process and the company by stating, "The Series `C' process provides substantial savings in capital investment for utilities and industry, and will have a positive impact on the environment. Most of the utilities in the U.S. are facing the pressing issue of developing plans for Phase I and II requirements of the Clean Air Act and we plan to play an increasingly important role in the compliance of those regulations."
KFx's corporate mission is to develop clean fuels, related products, and projects anchored by their proprietary technologies. Those services are provided domestically, as well as internationally.
