KEY TRONIC REAFFIRMS RECOVERY STRATEGY

SPOKANE, Wash., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Key Tronic Corporation (NASDAQ: KTCC), in response to questions regarding possible break-even operating results for its fourth quarter, reaffirmed comments made in the past three quarterly statements and at last years annual meeting. Stanley Hiller, CEO, stated that, "We are now playing a game of catch-up during a period of rebuild. This transition, from old to the new, brings with it a possibility of discontinuity in product mix and markets which may result in fluctuations of both revenues and earnings during this stage of reconstruction."
The computer industry's present softness and the lead time required to bring to market new orders that have more recently been received, have combined to negatively impact this quarter and possibly next.
The pending acquisition of Honeywell's Keyboard Division, along with efforts on cost reductions and improving overall operations, provides a broader base of customers and products which is part of Key Tronic's long term strategy.
The company, this year, has moved from substantial past losses to three quarters of improving profits. Short term fluctuations are to be expected.
