KEY TRONIC EXPECTS TO REPORT OPERATING LOSS FOR FIRST QUARTER

SPOKANE, Wash., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Key Tronic Corp. (NASDAQ: KTCC) today announced that the company expects to report an operating loss of approximately $1.2 million for the first quarter of fiscal 1994 ending Oct. 2. Net income, reflecting an FASB 109 adjustment, is expected to be approximately $7 million. The quarter's earnings release will be issued later in the week.
Last year's first quarter operating income was $816,000, with a net income of $891,000.
In the announcement, Chief Executive Officer Stanley Hiller said, "Key Tronic's operating results were adversely affected by increased pressure on prices and margins. The company is continuing to focus on cost reductions and new product development to address the pricing declines currently being experienced in the industry, and on completing the integration of the Honeywell Keyboard Division acquired in July."
