KEVIN McCORMICK, TINA NIDES ENTER INTO
 TWO-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH PARAMOUNT PICTURES
HOLLYWOOD, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Kevin McCormick and Tina Nides have entered into a two-year agreement under which they will develop and produce motion pictures exclusively for Paramount Pictures, it was announced today.
McCormick, most recently partnered with Sally Field at Fogwood Films, and Nides, a veteran literary agent with Creative Artists Agency Inc., will establish their office on the Paramount lot March 1.
"We at Paramount are very fortunate to have producers with the wealth of industry experience Kevin and Tina bring with them," said John Goldwyn, president of Paramount's Motion Picture Group/Production. "Kevin's knack for tapping the pulse of filmgoers and Tina's eye for innovative material will make them an exceptional team."
McCormick's association with Sally Field began in 1984 when they developed a project for CBS Theatrical Films, and he became her partner in Fogwood Films in 1988. "Dying Young" (20th Century-Fox, 1991) is the first film they produced together.
Before joining Fogwood, McCormick was an independent producer, producing the controversial HBO film "Into the Homeland," starring Powers Boothe, and the feature "Burglar," starring Whoopi Goldberg. Before that, he was president of Michael Nesmith's Pacific Arts video production company.
McCormick began his career in the industry as personal assistant to producer Robert Stigwood, rising to the position of senior vice president of production and development for the Robert Stigwood Organization. The first film he developed and executive produced was Paramount's phenomenal hit "Saturday Night Fever," starring John Travolta. Other films he executive produced include "The Fan," starring Lauren Bacall and James Garner; and "Times Square," directed by Alan Moyle.
Nides has been a literary agent for CAA for the past 12 years, working with a number of talent-based production companies, including those headed by Sally Field, Jane Fonda, Goldie Hawn and Ted Danson.
Her clients have included Pat Conroy ("The Prince of Tides"), Fannie Flagg ("Fried Green Tomatoes"), Aaron Sorkin ("A Few Good Men"), Anna Hamilton Phelan ("Gorillas in the Mist" and "Mask"), Michael Bortman ("The Good Mother" and "Crooked Hearts"), Hilary Henkin ("Romeo Is Bleeding") and David Shaber and Lynn Siefert ("Sylvie" and "Blue Maaga"). Nides also helped develop "The Color of Money" and "Out of Africa."
Prior to her position at CAA, Nides was an agent at Ziegler Diskant for two years, and before that was an executive at Warner Bros., during which time she worked on films including "Dog Day Afternoon," "All the President's Men" and "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore." Previously, she had been an editor for several magazines.
Paramount Pictures is part of the entertainment operations of Paramount Communications Inc.
