KEVIN J. SEXTON TO LEAVE METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

CLEVELAND, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Kevin J. Sexton, president of MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, will leave his position effective Feb. 4, 1993, for personal reasons.
Sexton had been with MetroHealth since 1985 when he joined the organization as senior vice president for strategic planning. He also served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for The MetroHealth System before being named president of the medical center last June.
"Sexton's contributions over the years have been numerous," said Henry E. Manning, president and chief executive officer of The MetroHealth System. "He developed and executed strategies and improvements which made MetroHealth Medical Center a regional healthcare leader. His ability to balance the business side of health care with the community's concerns has helped make MetroHealth a national model in hospital management, improving public health and providing community service. No one could have achieved more toward this end."
"I have immensely enjoyed my eight years at MetroHealth," said Sexton. "I have achieved my goals, and, most importantly, I served well as a leader of the staff at MetroHealth Medical Center, a unique collection of people of high skill and extraordinary dedication to the mission of MetroHealth. It has been an honor to be associated with them."
While a search process for naming a permanent president is being held, Manning has appointed Cathie B. Cline as interim president. Cline has held a number of senior management positions at MetroHealth, most recently as senior vice president for operations.
The MetroHealth System is one of the largest, most comprehensive healthcare systems in Ohio. The 1,536-bed hospital system includes MetroHealth Medical Center, MetroHealth Saint Luke's Medical Center, MetroHealth Center for Rehabilitation, MetroHealth Center for Skilled Nursing Care and MetroHealth Clement Center for Family Care.
