KENT STATE EXPANDS TELECOM CONTRACTS

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Kent State University has contracted with Sprint (NYSE: FON) for two years of long-distance telephone services in an agreement worth more than $1 million a year.
Sprint will provide both operator and direct-dial services to Kent State's campus buildings, including residence halls housing 5,650 students.
Richard Kalbrener, president of Sprint's Hospitality Group, said Kent State was renewing an expiring operator services contract and adding a new direct-dial service contract.
"Sprint has provided us personalized service and devised some clever solutions to our college campus service issues," said Margie Milone, telephone communications manager. "They've done a great job."
"Sprint is the only long-distance carrier that maintains a stand- alone hospitality group to serve the university and hotel communities," noted Kalbrener. "We've developed a lot of expertise based on constant interaction with our customers. And you can't beat that kind of real- world experience."
Kent State, located in Kent, Ohio, is a prominent liberal arts university with an enrollment of 22,700 students.
